Spring Clean!

This Easter I’ve been rolling up my sleeves for a spring clean! My paint brushes have been treated to a lovely new bucket (don’t you just love Easter Egg hunt buckets!!) and I’m making room for lots of fab new artwork in the studio. If you want to grab a bargain in the process why not get yourself over to Artfinder for my 20% sale until 10 April? What’s not to love?!

My nearly daily rain painting

Hello! A new blog, a new blank canvas.

Today I've been covering a new blank canvas, well, postcard, with another in my series of commuter rain paintings. I've been working on the series on and off for a year now – the first piece was submitted to the Twitter Art Exhibition in 2015 in Norway, and one of the latest ones has been submitted to the the same show in New York, with exhibition coming up at the end of March.

I love to listen to podcasts while I'm painting, especially the Savvy Painter podcasts. Antrese has introduced me to so many new artists and ideas while I've been putting paint to paper or canvas. One such artist was Carol Marine, over at Daily Paint Works. Carol is part of the daily painting movement and has a fab book on just that subject. Now, I can't paint every day, I commute 3 days and have two little girls, so I paint when I can, which is at least once a week, if not more.

This latest painting, whilst part of my existing London rainy day commute series, has been painted today, especially for the Daily Paint Work's weekly challenge, which I was delighted to discover was 'the rainy day challenge'. I couldn't resist.

So here's my new piece, '08.41 London Bridge', oil on primed postcard.
